About Rafsan Hasan

I’m Mahabub Hasan, known to most as Rafsan Hasan—a Bangladeshi-born vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist now based in New York City. Music has been my companion since childhood, from school competitions and university championships to leading my band RETAKE. It’s always been my way of expressing emotion, identity, and purpose.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to perform on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including the United Nations Headquarters for International Mother Language Day 2024, and Times Square for the Bangla New Year Celebration 2025. In 2023, I was honored to become the 2nd Runner-Up of RTV Young Star USA, one of the most prestigious televised singing competitions in the Bengali-American community.

My music blends traditional Bengali melodies with modern acoustic and rock elements, creating a sound that reflects both my heritage and my artistic evolution. I’ve also been fortunate to mentor and judge community talent shows, helping to uplift the next generation of performers.

Every performance, every lyric, every note is part of my mission—to celebrate culture, bridge generations, and inspire others through the universal language of music.
